Founded within Makerere University’s College of Engineering Design Art and Technology as an offshoot of the iLabs@Mak project, Dojo Hub nurtures innovation and enterprise by collaborating with industry, academia, and government through technology research & development and capacity building. The name “Dojo Hub” has origins in Japanese culture, in which a “Dojo” is a place of learning.
Dojo Hub offers technology development services in the fields of web & mobile applications, AI, IoT, and hardware automation. We collaborate with academic institutions, start-ups, SMEs, large enterprises, researchers, government agencies, and NGOs to develop concepts and support execution of projects.
We hold annual internships where we recruit undergraduate students and train them in various disciplines such as space technology, embedded systems, software development, etc. We also recruit undergraduate students as interns on every technology development project we work on. Through our internships program, we create skilled graduates who we connect to partner organizations for employment.
Dojo Hub is a venture studio. We create start-up enterprises that leverage the new insights derived from our research and development activities into products for the open market. We incubate the start-ups by offering physical space, skilled human resources, strategic guidance, and pre-seed funding.
We believe that innovation is the key to the infinite creation of opportunity.
We believe that enterprise is the key to sustainability.
We believe in learning as a means of establishing competence that is necessary for excellence in innovation and enterprise.
